In Sickness and In Health:
A Journey of Love

This motion animation captures the emotional story told from the perspective of a wife who recounts the journey of her husband's diagnosis and the health issues he faced during nineteen years of his life. The project effectively captures the depth and complexity of the story, using a documentary-like approach, layered imagery, and animated typography to bring the story to life. As the 15th anniversary of his passing approaches, this motion animation is a reminder of life's uncertainty, as well as a fitting tribute to the enduring spirit of her husband and the unconditional love his wife has for him.

The poster’s imagery is inspired by nursing students' note-taking style. They draw diagrams of anatomy and use highlighters and sticky notes to emphasize key terms. Using this approach, I physically created a series of five visuals representing each of my grandfather's health conditions over a 19-year period. These conditions included a back operation, leg problems, a heart attack, bone marrow transplants for Multiple Myeloma, and his decision to stop treatment. After the physical work was scanned and recreated digitally in Photoshop, the poster was animated.
